Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Online Courses

When can I register for classes?

The registration window for classes depends on the term in question. Fall registration is September 15th - October 1st. Spring registration is December 1-15th. Summer registration (if classes are offered) is March1-15th.How do I register for classes? You register for classes online at facte.coursestorm.com. You can only register for classes and/or waitlist during the registration window.


What happens after I register?

If you have successfully registered, you will immediately receive a confirmation email from Coursestorm. You will later receive an email from your online course instructor a few days prior to the course starting. This email will contain all the information you need to access and participate in the courses.Is there a limit on how many classes I can take? Yes, you can only take 2 courses per term. There are potentially three terms during the school year: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Fall runs from October 1st - December 23rd. Spring is January 4th - May 15th. Summer is May 1st - June 20th. If you register for more than 2 courses, FACTE will drop you from the extra courses without consultation.


Is there any restrictions on who can take these classes?

Yes, the classes are funded by Perkins and are only available to Florida public CTE teachers.


Will I get a certificate for these classes?

Upon successful completion of a course, you will receive a certificate via email from your instructor. In order to successfully complete the course, you must receive a final grade of 80% or higher.


Does FACTE maintain transcripts for the classes I have taken?

FACTE does not maintain transcripts for participants. FACTE is able to confirm what classes participants have successfully completed if the participant provides the title and date of the course.


What classes are required for certification?

Certification requirements are determined by the district in which the participant teaches. Please reach out to your district CTE department to determine your certification requirements.


Are these classes online?

The classes are held completely online. Participants are required to attend weekly zoom sessions. The coursework is completed and submitted through Canvas. Each new participant will receive information about setting up their FACTE Canvas account when they are enrolled in their first course.


Do the classes cost any money?

The classes are free to Florida public CTE teachers. There are no additional costs associated with these classes for public CTE teachers.
