Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)

Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) are comprised of not-for-profit organizations, specifically authorized by the U.S. Congress in the Perkins Act. CTSOs align with the 16 Career Clusters and 79 Career Pathways recognized by CTE. CTSOs give students the opportunity to develop and utilize skills learned in their CTE courses.

With 2,027,880 student members combined, Career and Technical Student Organizations integrate into Career and Technical Education programs and courses across the country. CTSOs extend teaching and learning through innovative programs, business and community partnerships and leadership experiences at the school, state and national levels.

DECA is in great need of volunteers from the Orlando business community to judge high school students that are interested in careers in marketing, finance, hospitality & tourism and entrepreneurship!

I have attached a judge brochure that provides general information about DECA, the conference and our need for volunteers.  Here are some highlights:

    • Volunteers needed on either Sunday, April 23, 7:30am – 5pm OR Monday, April 24, 7:30am – 2pm
    • Event is located at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando
    • Training on-site, free parking, breakfast and lunch
    • Register to judge at:  www.deca.org/volunteer

Volunteers will be JUDGING high school students from across the nation that traveled to Orlando to compete in career-related events. Over 20,000 students will be in attendance.

This is a great experience and it will truly give you hope for the future!  We would love to spread the word to your Orlando membership. We would also love to have you post the opportunity on your social media platforms, if possible. I have attached a document with sample text and images.
