 2025 FLATE MANUFACTURING AWARDS

FLATE’s Distinguished Manufacturing Service Recognition Program, hosted by the FloridaMakes, brings recognition to both secondary and post-secondary educators as well as recognizes key personnel for outstanding contributions to promote technology education and career awareness in support of manufacturing. This award includes nominees working in any manufacturing area such as economic development, industry, education and administration.

FLATE award winners are selected from submitted nominations from around the state, which are judged by an awards committee made up of industry representative(s), FAITE board member(s), past awardee(s), and member(s) of the  FloridaMakes Workforce Leadership Committee.

WELCOME

The Florida Association for Industrial and Technical Educators (FAITE)

·        It is a division of the Florida Association for Career and Technical Educators (FACTE).  Division members are instructors and administrators at the secondary and post-secondary levels, as well as university professors who prepare students numerous careers including graphic designers, electricians, web developers, automotive technicians, HVAC technicians, CAD drafters, manufacturing technicians, and many more!

FAITE was created to:

·        Promote, the philosophy and objectives of industrial and technical education

·        Offer greater visibility to the problems and challenges of industrial and technical educators.

·        Promote and recognize the growth of industrial and technical education teachers in their professional development.

·        Cooperate with federal and state authorities in promoting high standards and developing sound practices in industrial technical education programs and services.

·        Promote growth and development of SkillsUSA as an integral part of industrial and technical education programs and services.

·        Provide statewide support and meetings of industrial and technical educators for an exchange of ideas for the promotion, improvement, and expansion of industrial and technical programs and services.

FAITE BOARD MEMBER

President: Michael McCullough

  • Michael McCullough, a Curriculum Specialist at Pinellas County Schools, whose career in education began as a science teacher and evolved into establishing engineering programs at two schools.
  • Transitioning from a staff developer role in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department, Michael brings a wealth of experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Holding a Master's degree in STEM education from the University of South Florida (USF).
  • Holding a Local Directors Certificate from the University of Central Florida (UCF), Michael is dedicated to fostering excellence and innovation within Pinellas County Schools.


FAITE BOARD MEMBER

Treasurer: Kim Burt


  • Kim Burt is the assistant principal at Marion Technical College and has worked in career and technical education throughout her career.  
  • Kim has been on the Board of the Florida Association for Industrial and Technology Educators since 2014.  
  • Before her education career, she provided contracting services in technology for the USPS since the early 90s.

Vice President: Danielly Orozco-Cole


  • Danielly Orozco-Coleis the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Manager of the Florida Advanced Technology Education Center (FLATE) part of FloridaMakes. Mrs. Orozco-Cole’s background includes B.S. and M.S. degrees in Environmental Engineering.
  • Danielly has been on the board of the Florida Association for Industrial and Technology Educators since 2014.

  • With more than twenty years of experience, Danielly helps to promote and support manufacturing and advanced technical education, best practices and educational resources by ensuring the continuation of exemplary industry partnerships, workforce opportunity, and educational synergy throughout the state of Florida.

Technology Technician: Donald Ray



  • Donald Ray, FAITE Board Member since 2023

    Information Technology Instructor for Marion Technical College since 2018.

  • Worked in information technology since 1995 for US Navy, Dell Computers, Lockheed Martin, and Marion County Public Schools.

  • Bachelor Degree in Business and Organizational Management from College of Central Florida.




FAITE BOARD MEMBER

President Elect: Ebrahim Randeree



  • Ebe Randeree's background spans the fields of technology, healthcare, leadership and higher education. His specific interests are in outreach and creating pipelines from k-12 to higher education to industry. As part of a National Science Foundation project started in 2005, he has focused his service role on recruiting more students to the STEM fields. He is the Associate Dean of Finance & Administration at the College of Communication & Information at Florida State University where he teaches courses in leadership, career prep, health informatics, and technology.
  • He focuses his efforts on community outreach, employer partnerships, and supporting k-12 programs. He is also an Advisor to the ASCENT project at FSU PC (The FSU Panama City ASCENT Program is a 6-year, $23 Million Project, partially funded by Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc., designed to contribute to the development of a strong, regional workforce in cybersecurity and new technologies.)  Ebe has a master's degree in computer science from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Buffalo. He started at Florida State University in 2006.
